Terms of Service

The service

Sacred Pause is a contemplative prayer timer with Scripture and quotations from the saints, an optional Gregorian chant track, and a private journal. Three, five, and ten-minute sessions are free. Premium adds chant, custom session lengths, and the synced journal.

Your account

You need an account to use the journal. Keep your sign-in details secure and let us know if you believe your account has been used without your permission. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and if you are using Sacred Pause on behalf of an organisation, you have the authority to bind that organisation. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated.

Subscription, trial, and billing

• Premium costs $19.99 per year after a 7-day free trial.
• A payment method is required to start the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the first year is charged automatically.
• The subscription renews each year at the then-current price until you cancel. We will tell you in advance of any price change.
• You may cancel at any time; access continues to the end of the period you have paid for. See our Refund Policy for refunds.

Paddle as merchant of record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Acceptable use

Please do not misuse Sacred Pause. You must not: use it for any unlawful purpose; commit fraud or spam; infringe another's intellectual property; interfere with security (including introducing malware, probing, or scraping); or attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the service. You must not resell or redistribute the audio or written content supplied with the app.

Your content

Your journal entries remain yours. You grant us only the limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission needed to store and display them back to you within the service. We do not publish them or share them with others.

Our content and licence

The Sacred Pause name, design, software, and the audio recordings supplied with the app are owned by us or our licensors and are provided for your personal devotional use. We retain ownership of the service and all intellectual property in it. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Sacred Pause within your selected plan. You may not reverse engineer, resell, or circumvent technical limits of the service.

Availability and disclaimer

Sacred Pause is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, and it is not a substitute for pastoral, medical, or mental-health care. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Neither party is liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, except where required by law (such as fraud or personal injury).

Ending the agreement

You may stop using Sacred Pause and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken, if payment is not made, or to protect security. When access ends, you may export your journal entries for a short period before they are deleted.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Samuel Guzman resides. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
