Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account information. Your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your basic profile details. This is needed to create and manage your account.
• Journal entries. The titles and notes you choose to save. These are stored so only your account can read them.
• Prayer intentions and session settings. Kept on your device unless you save them to your journal.
• Payment information. Subscriptions are handled by our payment processor, Paddle, who acts as merchant of record. We never see or store your full card details. We keep a record of your subscription status, plan, and billing period.
• Technical data. Basic device identifiers, IP address, and error reports, used to keep the service working and secure.

How we use your information and why

• To provide the service — running the timer, journal, and your account (contract performance).
• To manage subscriptions and billing — processing payments and sending receipts (contract performance).
• To respond to support requests — answering your questions and fixing problems (contract performance and legitimate interests).
• To keep the service secure and working — diagnosing errors and preventing fraud (legitimate interests and legal obligation).
• To improve Sacred Pause — understanding usage patterns in aggregate (legitimate interests).

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your journal entries for advertising or for training any model.

Who we share it with

• Service providers — our hosting and database provider and our authentication provider, who help us run Sacred Pause.
• Paddle (merchant of record) — for the sale of Premium, subscription management, payment processing, tax compliance, and invoicing.
• Professional advisers — such as legal and accounting advisers, where necessary.
• Authorities — where required by law, such as responding to valid legal requests.

International transfers

Your information may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States and European Union. Where this happens, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and adequacy decisions to protect your data.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and journal entries until you delete them or ask us to close your account. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Technical logs are kept for a short period and then deleted or anonymised.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, and access controls that limit who can reach your data.

Cookies

Sacred Pause uses essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your session settings. We do not use marketing cookies. You can clear cookies in your browser or device settings at any time.

Your rights

You may request access to a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and journal entries. Depending on where you live — including under the EU/UK GDPR — you may also have the right to restrict processing, port your data to another service, object to certain processing, withdraw consent, and complain to your local data protection authority. Contact us and we will respond within one month.

Children

Sacred Pause is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes and contact
